Mum's An Aussie

“From this time forward, under God
I pledge my loyalty to Australia and its people
Whose democratic beliefs I share,
Whose rights and liberties I respect, and
Whose laws I will uphold and obey.”

On Australia Day eve, I attended an Australia Day celebration in Castlemaine, a 20-minute drive from Maldon. It was an hour celebration which included the citizenship ceremony. There I made the Pledge of Commitment to Australia, which is the final step to become a citizen. I was with other four candidates and we were given citizenship certificates and trees as gifts.

Proud to be an Aussie, mate!

Afterwards, we went to visit the Mt Tarrangower Lookout for the umpteenth time. It was Lana's first, though. I only went up the first level while Russ & Lana went up the second. It was too high for me. Russ was making me go up because apparently we could see the house from up there. I could still see the fantastic view around the mountain. Lana seemed to have enjoyed going up with Dad.
