No gifts, just books.

It's January and in a few weeks, Lana will celebrate her 1st birthday. I've been finalising Lana's invitations to get them out of the way. Then I can worry about food and other stuff.

Russ & I decided a 'Please, no gift' added in the invites. We don't want Lana to have a pile of unwanted presents in the house. But then since we want her to have a collection of books at home, we thought books are a great and inexpensive gift for her first birthday. And they're something that Lana would use for a long time. Russ & I would have lots of fun reading to her. So maybe I'd this poem at the back of her invites:
