Lana's Pre-Birthday Celebration - Party Food

There was plenty of food. I have photos of some of the chow that I cooked/made. The others didn’t have pictures because I was too busy to photograph them:

Flower bouquet. This was a first timer in the house. I’ve never made this before but it’s become a party hit. It was made as a centerpiece-cum- decoration but the only difference is that they’re edible. Ninang Amy in Canada initiated it and thought I’d make it at Lana’s party. It’s like a version of fruit kebab in a vase. I wrapped the vase with a serviette to coordinate with Lana’s theme. It sure was a pleaser! Kids enjoyed them, too. Sushi. Made with lots of TLC. For the filling, I used rice, fresh cucumber, grilled soy chicken, eggs, avocado and smeared wasabi in the rice. For dip, I used soy sauce, more wasabi and preserved ginger. One of the food I must have at my party is my blissful English trifle. The sought after recipe came from my mother-in-law. A layer of strawberry sponge cake, strawberry jelly & custard topped with fresh strawberries. This dessert would make your mouth water. Delighful! It’s becoming my signature food! Fried chicken wings. Auntie Gina gave Lana a box of very fresh chicken wings, thanks, Gache! I fried them in my sent-from-above deep fryer. Crudités. By late afternoon, I was surprised to see that the plate of crudités was almost empty. I was expecting they will be ignored but I was wrong! In it were fresh cuts of celery sticks, cucumber, orange capsicum & my new favorite dip – cream cheese & chili sauce! Potato Salad. Our party guests took pleasure in eating my potato salad. I, myself enjoyed it. I also made some curry eggs with olives. A great appetizer.

Sonia aka Tita Pretty cooked her renowned pancit (fried noodles) and adobo plus her delectable native tikoy and rainbow jelly (not pictured).
Chicken kebab. Ninang Donna aka Tita Pretty 2 ordered some chicken kebabs from work. I grilled them and added some lime at the end of the sticks for garnish.
I have requested Ninang Donna, Lana's other Ninang Donna,(I should call her Tita Pretty 3 to distinguish the two Ninang Donnas. They're both pretty anyway) to cook some mouth-watering embutido (no photo) for me since I like the ones that she cooked on Aaron’s christening day. I keep some in the freezer for me to enjoy later. She also cooked a Jollibee style spaghetti that was a favorite of the kids.
Ninang Jing also brought her crunchy coated peanuts. Too bad, I didn't sample them. They, too finished quickly. She also cooked some satay chicken.

Greek Salad. Ninang Jing's very good at making salads. She made me a greek and a garden salad. Yummy!
Some of the guests have brought food like luscious dessert, brazo de Mercedes courtesy of Liza Bray & Jennet, also the latter brought her celebrated yummy fruit salad.
Other guests brought food or drinks. I didn't have the chance to photograph them all.
