Lana’s Weekend Routine

7am or 8am – Even when our biological clock tells us to wake up, we still stay in bed, cuddle each other until we are ready to get up. Daddy wakes up at around after 5am. Lana and Mummy get to sleep in on weekends, as we don’t have to get ourselves ready to go anywhere. She still has her bottle first thing in the morning so Mummy can get ready.

9am – Mummy has brekky; usually porridge while chatting with Mommy-la on the phone and Lana has toasts while playing. When breakfast is finished, weather permitting we go out for a walk around the pool or down the driveway. I do a bit of running or stretching while she plays. If we need to stay indoors, there are other things that we can do like read books or watch TV or do the household chores.

I want to spend as much time with Lana whenever I’m home so housework is not a priority to me. But odd jobs still have to be done so the things that I can do like folding the washing I do them while playing with Lana. I also get to change the bed sheets while she plays in her cot. We play peek-a-boo in between changing sheets. She also comes with me whenever I go to the laundry; say to wash my work clothes. She likes it in the laundry because that’s the room that she seldom goes to play in. There are so many things that I can do while playing with her except of course cooking and ironing!

10am – We usually go back to the house after our yard trek about this time, as Lana will be ready for her morning tea and sleep. Sometimes I ask Russ to put her to sleep and sometimes I would lay down with her so I can watch my Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters series that Russ has recorded for me during the week. When she’s asleep, that's when I go explore the cyberworld, updating Lana’s blog or do my cooking and tidying up.

12pm – Lana would still be asleep at this time so Russ & I would have our lunches first, on our computer desks! When she wakes up, she will have lunch and a play again. If the weather is good, then we would play outside. We want to take her out for a play or walk outside as much as she wants so she doesn’t get bored. And she likes the outdoors and enjoys looking at almost everything outside keeps her happy and bubbly! We will do our usual play until she is ready for her afternoon nap again…

4pm – She will be grizzly at about this time to let us know that she’s ready for her afternoon nap. Sometimes, I put her to sleep while I watch my recorded movies. If there were nothing on, I would get dinner ready or chat online or do anything I fancy.

7pm – Dinnertime is pretty much the same as on any other days. If Lana has a good sleep, she will be happy throughout her dinner, otherwise she will be grumpy and won’t be her bright self. A bath afterwards and play in between bedtime sometimes will pep her up. If it doesn’t, then bed would be the likely solution.

The rest of the night will be spent on the kitchen and other rooms that need a little TLC.
